Fleadh 2020 Weekend Info for Competitors/Visitors

VENUES

All competitions will take place in Maria Immaculata Community College

 

* If you are not entered in a competiton you can not compete *

 

No Practice rooms and No Tuning rooms available. All practice should be completed before the Fleadh

 

CAR PARKING

There is limited parking available in the grounds of MICC. Additional car parking will be available in the adjacent GAA car park. Please allow yourself enough time as there may be traffic delays.

 

ADMISSION WRISTBANDS & PROGRAMMES

Wristbands must be purchased by all Fleadh Patrons.  

 

Adult Wristband: €5

Junior Wristband: €3

Fleadh Programme: €5

 

TROPHIES

Please return trophies to the trophy room on your arrival

 

HEALTH AND SAFETY

All stewards will be wearing high visibility vests. Please co-operate with our Fleadh stewards at all times

LATE SLIPS

If you are involved in more than one competition at the same time you must fill out a late slip and present to the call steward at each venue. If we don't hear from you, we will have no option but to the close the competiton after the last competitor has played. If you present a slip, the competiton will be held open for no longer than 15 minutes after the last competitor has performed

 

 

 

 

VIDEO PERMIT

To comply with Child Protection Guidelines if you wish to video record any competitor you must have a permit signed by the parent of the competitor or the teacher of the group or band

Traditional musicians of all ages are invited to gather in Dunmanway next April for Fleadh Cheoil Chorcaí 2020, which will be hosted by Dunmanway Comhaltas Branch.

 

The Cork Fleadh Cheoil is a weekend festival comprised of ceili dancing, music sessions, street entertainment and competitions in music, singing, dancing and storytelling. Under 12 and 12/15 competitions will take place on Saturday, April 18th while 15/18 and Senior competitions will take place in Sunday, April 19th. Two qualifiers from each competition will go forward to represent Cork in the Munster Fleadh Cheoil in Newcastlewest, Co. Limerick in July 2020.

 

As Fleadh hosts, Dunmanway Comhaltas are compiling an exciting programme of events to ensure that the 2020 Fleadh is a memorable celebration of traditional Irish culture.
